Paul Lowen wins Bronze at world championships

Paul Lowen won the bronze medal in the Men’s Foil category B age group at the Veteran World Championships.
Paul navigated his way to 2nd seed after the poules after winning all his poule fights, some by some very narrow margins. After the poules, he had a bye to the last 16 of the competition where he beat Zakirov (RUS) 10 – 6 to make the quarter finals. In the last 8, he went to time to knock out Thomiszer (USA) 2 – 1 but eventually fell to Yamizake (JPN) 10 – 6 in the semi finals.

Two Saxons make the quarter finals at Sussex

Six Saxon fencers went to the Sussex Open last weekend with Christopher Mollard and Nick Mort (following his recently impressive form) making the quarter finals.
